Audience
New z/OS system programmers that need an understanding of the z/OS environment and the subsystems supported.
Workstations will be used to illustrate concepts and provide basic exposure to the elements of the z/OS environment.
Description
This course provides an examination of z/OS for new systems programmers. Topics include an introduction to the z/series systems hardware and an exploration of z/OS architecture, system services and functions, subsystems, and communications. In particular, the focus will be to explore the operation of the z/OS environment with an objective of understanding its setup, configuration, and management.
Prerequisites
The student should have a basic understanding of TSO/ISPF, JCL and basic utility programs.
